Formula Bar

Directly below the top bar of your screen, in the Assumptions tab, you will see the Formula Bar along with the settings button for your Metric (each row in the model is called a Metric). We have a separate article that explains what each button does and how to build formulas, but know that this is a vital section of your page that you will frequently interact with when building your model.

The Data Table is where your financial model lives! It has a few core features:

    • People - Your hiring plan.
    • Expenses - Any operational costs outside of hiring.
    • Assets - Items on the assets side of the balance sheet, such as fixed assets (vehicles, equipment, etc.).
    • Liabilities - Items on the liabilities side of the balance sheet, such as long-term debt.
    • Equity - Items on the equity side of the balance sheet, such as investments.
  • Metrics that make up each row of your model.
  • A Plus Button beside each metric/section that adds a new nested metric underneath it.
